The Gallery Educational Resource Pack
Ahead of the fourth season of The Gallery, Artichoke’s Learning & Participation team have launched a comprehensive Educational Resource Pack suitable for all ages and abilities.
Learn more about the impact of public art, delve into the history of billboards and create your own artwork inspired by the themes The Gallery has exhibited thus far.

Outdoor Painting: Class & Exhibition
Create London are holding series of free events and creative activities exploring the relationship between climate change and industrial heritage in Barking & Dagenham.
Capture the local landscape in paint under the guidance of professional artists.
This workshop is suitable for beginners – the class will allow you to develop your painting skills while taking in your local environment. You will then have the chance to exhibit your paintings at a local exhibition (details to be announced). All materials provided.

El Anatsui: Behind The Red Moon, at Tate Modern
Visit El Anatsui’s monumental sculptural installation made of thousands of metal bottle tops and fragments.
One of the most distinctive artists working today, Ghanaian artist El Anatsui has developed a highly innovative approach to sculpture. He embraces a wide range of forms and materials including wood, ceramics and found objects. Since the late 1990s he has experimented with liquor bottle tops, the product of a global industry built on colonial trade routes. Pushing the boundaries of sculpture in new and exciting ways, Anatsui’s metal hangings are monumental in scale and flexible in structure.

Family Art Club
Experiment with painting, drawing, sculpting and more in this friendly, energetic workshop hosted by A House for Artists.
Alongside other creative participants, children will have the opportunity to explore different mediums, build confidence and hone their own unique styles under the guidance of a professional artist.
Young artists are also invited to explore their artistic potential in a nurturing environment where they can develop new skills and confidence, create artwork to take home, and make new friends.
Parents/carers are invited to attend with 5 -11-year-olds.

Children’s Art Trail
Head to Canary Wharf to discover a small selection of over 100 artworks permanently displayed on the estate, both outside and indoors, including iconic artworks by the likes of Henry Moore and Camille Walala.
Follow the map to find the 12 artworks and try to complete the testing tasks along the way.
