Illuminations
La Machine was hailed as one of the highlights of Liverpool’s 2008 European Capital of Culture celebrations, uniting thousands of people as they watched the spider journey through the city.
For the Along Came a Spider conference, Artichoke brought back together some of the key people who made the project possible. Together they examined how the event came to life and the process of reimagining a city both creatively and practically. The discussion explored the development of outdoor arts, and how the sector could be better supported to enable more events of this scale.
