The UK’s light art biennial returns, from Thursday 13 – Saturday 15 November 2025
It’s brought over 1.3 million visitors to Durham since it began in 2009 and today Lumiere stands as a landmark event in the cultural calendar of the North East.
An estimated 170,000 visitors attended the iconic event in 2023. In its 9th edition, Lumiere 2025 will take place over three evenings, from Thursday to Saturday, 13-15 November. The brand new programme promises to feed the imagination with magic and joy, transforming Durham city once again into an illuminated art gallery.
