Treeline is a new and ambitious project produced by Artichoke Trust, an extraordinary quest that links Europe’s ancient forests through an epic cycling adventure through 10 countries.

The project will celebrate the enduring spirit of these forests, fostering a deeper connection between people and the ancient natural world that surrounds them.

Treeline is conceived of and led by composer, musician, and tree-enthusiast Graham Fitkin. He will traverse the continent’s oldest woodlands by bicycle performing new work in 15 concerts in towns, cities and villages along the way. The music will be directly inspired by trees chosen specially by local people in each location.

From the towering oaks of Germany’s Black Forest to the untamed wilds of Poland’s Białowieża, an ancient beech forest once formed an interconnected living chronicle of the past. Today, however, all but the smallest remnants of European primeval forests have disappeared.

Stay tuned for more information about the project.
